A tether crawling robot id a robot which traverses cable or a tether that is used to supply power, communications, intelligence, safety (such as a rope to find/pull the robot back if it gets stuck.) to a powered or underpowered mobile device, such as a robot, or a person such as a fireman. the tether crawling robot uses the first robot’s tether tor person’s cable as a guide tand therefore does not require a sophisticated locomotion capability but rather can access locations previously regulated to complex locomoting devices.
