Low-cost, Non-intrusive, Software-based Approach for Real-time Monitoring of Server-level Power Consumption of Datacenter Infrastructure

It is a low-cost non-intrusive method for fine-grained power monitoring of datacenters. The aggregate power consumption of the whole datacenter and the component state information of the servers are used to estimate the power consumption of a specific server or group of servers in the datacenter. When implemented as a software solution, this patent-pending technology eliminates the high cost associated with hardware-based solutions.
