STAR-Promoter for targeting intestinal/colon stem cells

The present invention is in the field of molecular biology and biotechnology. In particular, the invention concerns the specific gene expression in ASCL2-positive cells. The present invention further relates to methods for the diagnosis and treatment of cancers, preferably intestinal (small and large), lung, stomach or breast cancer, preferably colorectal cancer, preferably wherein cancer stem cells (CSCs) are marked by ASCL2.
